YAY! A new happy client...

I just returned from my first "official meeting" as a freelancer. It was a delightful meeting. When you work for yourself, you have more meetings in coffee shops than in board rooms.

I like coffee shops. And my new client, Dena. Of course I've known her, a little, socially for a while now. How fortuitous that we met for lunch with a mutual friend my very first day on this new venture. She asked, "Are you very busy?" Which I answered candidly, which was to say that I was, indeed, busy. But you know me...I'm always keen to add a little more to my plate. Who needs sleep? And since she had a need for a really quick turnaround time, of course she got bumped to the top of the list. OH don't let my patiently waiting customers read this yet. How horrid I'd feel for them. But it's all good...I'm seeing that light of hope at the end of the tunnel.

And that light is laced with Dena's smile as she says, "I like it so much." What fun to build websites for people who let you run with your own ideas and see what comes.

Never mind that she's a writer, has future projects on the table, and is probably interested in collaborating on future ventures. And it's not even the end of the day yet! Time to work on one of those other sites I've had on hold for a while. Now.

You are incredibly talented and your running off with ideas ends up as art!

Melody is not being candid enough in her self-promotion. I LOVE the website she has desgined for me and my new humor book. It's far beyond my expectations and I'm looking forward to working with her much more in the future...hopefully I have several more books inside me.

I'm a big fan of coffee shop meetings as well. Would you rather face someone across a board room table or a crumb-spattered corner tabletop in a busy yet cozy restaurant? That's a no brainer. Looking forward to many more crumb-my (ha ha!!) meetings with Melody.

SO. Now that it's been 6 months or so since I stopped designing jewelry - for anybody other than myself - I realize it's time to weed out this section of my website. But I still get enough interest from people wanting to see what I used to design, that I thought I'll start by moving some links here to the footer area. For now, anyway.
