Welcome to the blog portion of this site: Capturing My Attention

I'm a freelancing "creative type" making a career out of helping others express themselves creatively. My site includes both professional & personal content. Here in the blog, you're as likely to read my random musings as something related to my particular twist on self-employment. For more, you might want to read this page.

Effervescent, curmudgeon, bodacious... Aah, words

Having just read the word "ghastly" and felt a wave of pleasure, I started thinking about how magnificent "mere" words are. It's fascinating how a single word can conjure a memory, sensation, mood...

Note: not necessarily for their meanings. For example, I certainly don't want to feel ghastly. But the word itself - hearing it spoken, recalling the fascinating accents I've heard use it, amusing myself at the memory of the exaggerated way people sometimes stretch it out when they say it... yea, I do enjoy this word!

  • translucent
  • discombobulated

SO. Now that it's been 6 months or so since I stopped designing jewelry - for anybody other than myself - I realize it's time to weed out this section of my website. But I still get enough interest from people wanting to see what I used to design, that I thought I'll start by moving some links here to the footer area. For now, anyway.
